It’s Not You, It’s Me - While You’re Waiting
SINGLENESS can be both a BURDEN & a BLESSING.
God is not WITHHOLDING something GOOD from you—He’s PREPARING you for something GREAT.

A WAITING season doesn’t have to be a WASTED season.

Psalm 37:4 (NIV)
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
While you’re waiting:
1. SEE this SEASON for what it really is.
1 Corinthians 7:32-25 (NLT)
I want you to be free from the concerns of this life. An unmarried man can spend his time doing the Lord’s work and thinking how to please him. 33 But a married man has to think about his earthly responsibilities and how to please his wife. 34 His interests are divided. In the same way, a woman who is no longer married or has never been married can be devoted to the Lord and holy in body and in spirit. But a married woman has to think about her earthly responsibilities and how to please her husband. 35 I am saying this for your benefit, not to place restrictions on you. I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible.
2. Focus more on BECOMING than on FINDING.

Matthew 6:28-33 (NIV)

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Culture focuses on FINDING the right ONE. Scripture focuses on BEING the right ONE.

3. Don’t SETTLE for STEW.
Genesis 25:29-34 (NIV)

Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished. He said to Jacob, 'Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!' (That is why he was also called Edom.) Jacob replied, 'First sell me your birthright.' 'Look, I am about to die,' Esau said. 'What good is the birthright to me?' But Jacob said, 'Swear to me first.' So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.
4. Trust God's TIMING over your TIMELINE.
Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
Psalm 27:14 (NIV)

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
5. Live fully in the MOMENT, not "once I'm MARRIED”.
John 10:10 (NIV)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

6. There will be FRUIT from your FAITHFULNESS.
Psalm 37:4 (NIV)

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
